Description Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical
Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelor of
Science in Nursing program located in the Salt Lake City, UT area.
You will be mentoring students in person at an inpatient clinical
setting. You'll be making connections between what our students are
learning in the classroom and during simulations, with the
real-world applications in patient care they are experiencing
on-site. By bridging this gap, we can ensure that our students are
not only well-prepared for their roles as healthcare professionals
but also confident in their abilities to provide high-quality care
to their patients. Candidates with a completed MSN are encouraged
to apply - Teaching experience is not required! Clinicals are
scheduled in a healthcare facility in the Salt Lake City, UT area.
We are presently accepting applications to meet potential future
need in the following areas of specialization: Mental Health Psych
Nursing: Students will be demonstrating nursing skills and
procedures in an inpatient healthcare center. Emphasis is on the
dynamics of an individual’s ability to function in society. The
course focuses on content relative to anxiety, self-concept,
thought disorders, mood alterations, addictive behaviors, organic
brain dysfunction, abuse, and violence issues. Pediatric Nursing:
Students will be demonstrating nursing skills and procedures in an
inpatient healthcare center. Family-centered care of children is
the focus of this course, exploring issues of normal childcare as
well as health alterations of children from infancy through
adolescence. Maternal OB Nursing: Students will be demonstrating
nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center on
a Labor & Delivery unit. This course focuses on family-centered
approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health
promotion and wellness issues. The childbearing cycle, including
normal experience, high-risk factors, complications, and
alterations are studied. Complex Adult Health Critical Care:
Students will be demonstrating nursing skills and procedures in an
inpatient healthcare center. Adult patients with unstable emergent
critical illnesses are the focus of this course. Students integrate
nursing, technological and scientific knowledge with clinical
judgment to potentiate optimal health with a diverse patient
population. Students utilize comprehensive assessment techniques,
advanced nursing skills and multiple nursing modalities to maximize
optimal health. Community Public Health Nursing: Students will be
demonstrating nursing skills and procedures in an outpatient
healthcare center. The public/community health nurse’s role as a
partner with the community to shape conditions supportive of health
is emphasized through application of the nursing process, beginning
with the assessment of the community’s health and wellness.
Capstone Final Clinical: As our student’s final clinical before
graduating, this course facilitates the student’s transition into
professional nursing through an exploration of trends and issues in
professional nursing and participation in experiential-based
nursing experiences. This culminating clinical practicum focuses on
refining skills in the delivery and management of nursing care
within the context of legal, ethical and evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities: Teaching and Curriculum Implementation Implement
the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course
objectives through clinical teaching and service. Assume
responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching
loads. Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and
evaluation of nursing students. Student Evaluation and Support
Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with
student's knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning
needs. Evaluate and provide documented feedback on performance to
students based on course objectives. Be available for remediation
of students as required or needed. Correct and return homework,
quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other
written work in a timely manner. Clinical Coordination Orient and
maintain current knowledge related to clinical site policies,
procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the clinical
site personnel. Develop and post written clinical assignments
consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and
individual learning needs. Develops and posts written clinical

staying available to staff and students at the clinical site.
Program and College Development Contribute to the ongoing
development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the
College. Participate in the implementation of the College
Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental
and campus policies. May teach simulation/skills lab and/or
didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.
Professionalism and Collaboration Serve as a professional role
model for other faculty, staff, and students. Utilize relationship
skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus
building, and win-win negotiation. Work with college
administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the
overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting Comply with all applicable
regulatory rules and standards. Keep the course coordinator
informed of all student and agency issues and concerns. Report to
the dean or assistant dean, with direct oversight from a course
coordinator. Handle related duties and perform other duties as
assigned, comply with all policies and standards Qualifications A
master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited
college or university An unencumbered professional nursing license
in UT At least two years professional experience within last five
years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse Live within
a reasonable proximity of Salt Lake City, UT - will be teaching at
the clinical locations assigned per session Teaching or precepting
experience is preferred but not required Have genuine passion for
nursing, education, and lifelong learning Have exceptional subject
matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication
skills Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion,
respect and care Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose
with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader
community Additional Information In support of the pay transparency
laws enacted across the country, t he expected compensation rate
