We are currently seeking a Software Engineering Section Manager, in the Systems Applications Department, who is inspired by a job that challenges you to be proactive, make decisions and generate ideas that will push products above and beyond. As a Systems Applications section manager, the applicant is will perform functional management tasks and be actively engaged in the technical and/or programmatic aspects of programs within an Integrated Product Team. You will guide and oversee the design, build, test and delivery of advanced high-capacity systems that process modern communications for the U.S. intelligence community. Section managers are responsible for providing engineering leadership to ensure that cost, schedule and technical performance comply with program needs and the AST processes. Engineering leadership tasks include but not are not limited to such activities as ensuring adequate resources (personnel and assets) are dedicated to programs, providing technical guidance, developing career paths, facilitating alignment with engineering command media, leading productivity improvement and risk mitigation initiatives, performing other functional duties in support of normal operations and providing cost estimates for proposal activities. Required Skills: A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development with organizations developing electronic system for DoD or IC entitiesLine Management experience with a group of at least 8 engineersTechnical leadership experience for a small team of engineers Experience providing career development for and evaluating performance of section membersExperience contributing technical work products throughout the entire Systems life cycleExperience working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentExperience providing technical leadership to engineers throughout the entire Systems lifecycleExperience programming in C/C++, Python, Perl, or similar languagesExperience hiring technical staffExperience debugging systems Experience tailoring systems engineering processes to specific programsExperience in defining and scoping system-level technical efforts from technical tasking and staffing standpoints for bidding, proposal, or program execution activitiesActive Top Secret/SCI Clearance (Active within the last 24 months) Desired Skills:Experience in one or more of the following software development, systems development or mission supportExperience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilitiesExperience with or basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processingExperience with test automation practices or techniquesExperience in hardware or software development and testingExperienced in design, development and testing of complex hardware and software data processing systemsExperience with Object Oriented Design and DevelopmentExperience with Configuration Management tools, such as gitExperience with process improvementEarned Value certifiedActive TS/SCI Clearance with Poly (Active within the last 24 months)Required Education: Bachelors of Science (B.S.)
