Briostack - Software Engineering Manager Are you a motivated and highly talented, hand-in-the-code Software Engineering Manager with a passion for building amazing products and the drive to quickly learn new technologies? You You are a hands-on software engineering manager with deep experience working with Java, MySQL, Angular 2+, HTML, and SCSS. You get bonus points if you also have deep experience working with Amazon AWS technologies or DevOps skills. You are passionate about delivering clean code and user-centered products. You have 2+ years experience as a team lead or engineering manager. You are interested in full-stack development and leading engineering teams to deliver high quality results. You know how to build relationships of trust and mutual respect with your team members by personally performing at a high level. Us Briostack is a small but quickly growing software as a service company, recently acquired by EverCommerce. We have a software suite targeted at the major business needs of pest control companies. Our goal is to build software so good that no one can offer a close substitute, and we are building a world-class engineering team to help us achieve it. Our product offering is named Brio, and there are a number of major parts to what it does: Customer Relationship Management Appointment Scheduling Route Optimization End to End Paperless Documentation Billing and Transaction Processing Automated Notifications Where Our office is located in Lehi, Utah, and our ideal candidate will be already based in the Salt Lake City area and open to commuting at least a couple days a week to our office when we reopen later this year. We are also open to qualified candidates from across the United States that would be 100% remote; you must be legally eligible to work in the United States to qualify for this role. What you'll be doing Manage the performance, output, and overall work experience of 5-10 direct reports on a daily basis Be responsible for hiring and firing team members as needed Research, understand, and lead the adoption of best practices and standards for tools, processes, and methodologies in software development Help prioritize and assign work to team members based on strategic company priorities Review and triage bugs and make sure they are resolved in a timely manner Collaborate with other team members and architects to design and develop new product features Research and quickly learn new technologies Debug and fix issues with existing code Address customer issues quickly, thoroughly, and professionally Work as part of an agile development team Create clean, well designed, testable, and efficient code Write unit tests for new and existing code to ensure quality and stability Create new code or enhance existing code, working through the entire stack, to implement features and address bugs Work closely with stakeholders to understand and design requirements and maintainable architectures for new features Mentor, train, and guide junior engineers to help the entire team be successful Occasionally interact with 3rd parties to understand and develop integrations, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate deliverables Our Software Stack Amazon Web Services Skills and competencies we'll be evaluating 2+ years of experience as a manager or team lead Ability to lead cross functional teams of software engineers and QA engineers Experience and understanding of object-oriented design Great analytical and problem-solving skills High level of attention to detail Experience working with Git Experience working in an Agile environment Ability to write high quality, maintainable, and scalable software with little to no supervision Ability to dive into a new problem, understand it, and quickly create solutions Experience developing and scaling SaaS applications Experience with UI design implementation A degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred Benefits and Perks Competitive compensation plan Continued investment in your professional development Robust medical, dental, and vision benefits 401k with match Start with 17 days of PTO, 10 holidays, and a day off to volunteer each year EverCommerce is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
