About the Role

Lending Club's Integration and Oversight team is seeking a talented, creative, process and data expert for the position of Operations Oversight Business Analyst. This is a process analysis intensive role that will influence the day to day operations of multiple business functions. This position will play a key role in the development and execution of independent reviews to test and validate operations compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures. This position will partner closely with Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, and Internal Audit to identify and prioritize operational risks. This position will be responsible for researching operational processes and identifying root causes of findings. This position will work cross-functionally with business partners throughout the organization to mitigate and resolve future risks. The Operations Oversight team is also responsible for coordinating all Operations examination and audit requests, ensuring accuracy and timely responses across all Operations business lines. This position reports to the Manager of Operations Oversight.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the development of a first-rate operations oversight program at a cutting-edge FinTech organization.

  • Partner with operations leaders to become an expert on operations processes across multiple functions.

  • Partner with the compliance team to develop and execute operations testing plan to target areas and processes presenting the highest regulatory risks

  • Use SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau) to mine and organize data from various internal systems and data libraries for compliance testing, data analysis, and related reporting needs.

  • Develop and perform test work and validation activities across the Operations org to assess control design and effectiveness

  • Prepare self-testing reports that clearly present the results of testing and call out material findings and recommendations

  • Work with business management to develop appropriate corrective actions to address material findings in testing and ensure, where required, customer remediation is completed

  • Ensure material compliance issues identified through self-testing are recorded, tracked, and reported to ensure their appropriate and timely resolution

  • Assist in the development of a first-rate audit data request fulfillment program.

  • Ensure information is accurate, complete and returned in a timely manner and documented appropriately

  • Work closely with business partners to design appropriate action plans to resolve any identified issues and work to quickly close gaps, remediate where necessary and, closeout/resolve any open items

About You

  • Strong knowledge of business processes and root cause analysis

  • Strong understanding of relational database structures.

  • Experience writing complex SQL queries

  • Reporting experience (Tableau preferred)

  • Advanced level Excel skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decisions and drive change.

  • Self-starter with ability to think independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives to resolution.

  • Solid analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and rapid changes.

  • Sense of humor, ability to learn from mistakes, and laugh at the little things appreciated

  • 2+ years of banking or financial services experience, preferably in compliance, internal control, risk management and/or audit functions.


  • 2+ years of experience performing compliance testing/audits or quality reviews


  • 2+ years of experience in process reform and design
