Product Manager, Payment Solutions
Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
Product Strategy/Direction: Working closely with VP, Product
Innovation, Chief Information Officer, and internal stakeholders to
execute on existing product strategy and vision. Specifically, but
not limited to:
- Adjusting and/or creating vision and strategy as needed.
- Establish direction and target market of the product.
- Generate and maintain product roadmap with clear vision on
- Maintain a prioritized list of customer and product
requirements to further the product direction.
- Work with customers to clarify their needs and represent the
voice of the customer to the development team.
- Provide regular and transparent communication of product status
to internal and external stakeholders.
Customer Experience: Responsible for engaging with customers to
better understand product needs, expectations, experience using our
products, and support. Client engagement to also include
effectively conveying product value proposition to customers and
the benefits the product can provide.
Sales Support: Will work closely with sales to establish and
maintain product sales pipeline across Verisk, as well as meet
revenue targets/goals associated with product. Sales support will
also include development of pricing models, contract structures,
and packaging/bundling. The Product Manager will participate in
client engagement meetings with Sales team operating as a subject
matter expert (SME).
Go to Market Strategy: Responsible for creating go-to-market
plans with Product Business Owners in conjunction with
Sales/Marketing. The Product Manager with the Business Product
Owners will be responsible for developing sales materials,
training, proposals, insights, customer conference management,
competitive information, etc.
Market Proficiency: Proactively research and understand the
latest market and competition trends. Understand the composition
and needs of the target market. Know our users as well and
understand our competition.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience within Business Finance, Payment
Solutions or other related field. P&C insurance company, vendor
or related experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of how payments flow into the insurance claim
process, the insurance business model, and/or non-insurance payment
workflows. In addition, a good knowledge of the entire value chain
in insurance and non-insurance business, and how payment flow
occurs (incoming and outgoing).
- Experience relevant to product innovation, product management
and working with agile development teams, with understanding of the
product development lifecycle.
- Ability to effectively partner with teams across the
organization and the ability to achieve results across multiple
teams who may have competing goals.
- Ability to define the product direction within overall product
vision and execute on the product vision.
- Must be able to assess and address complex business problems,
as well as understand detailed customer workflows and payment
workflows to execute opportunities that include Verisk capabilities
across the organization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and a professional
demeanor. Must be able to communicate on a business and technical
level internally, as well as with prospective customers.
- Highly motivated, with the ability to work in a fast paced,
dynamic, revenue generating environment.
