Our client is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney who will collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional service, take full ownership of their caseload, and prioritize the well-being of their clients. The ideal candidate will meet hourly and revenue targets, handle legal matters promptly and with excellence, and ensure clients feel supported, listened to, and informed every step of the way. OBJECTIVES • Serve clients exceptionally well through systematic, empathic communication, excellent and on-time written legal work, and in-court oral advocacy • Meet billable hours and revenue requirements by billing in real-time for all work completed • Coordinate with the office manager and their team leader to ensure 100% collection for work billed • Be 100% responsible for all aspects of their caseload, from the beginning of their cases through trial and doing so in a timely manner • Daily collaboration and planning of key case objectives with paralegals • Create initial case plan to identify and obtain a client’s primary goals • Create an effective negotiation strategy to accomplish client’s primary goals, and then execute on that strategy during mediation • Share knowledge freely with their fellow attorney team members, as well as other firm members, so everyone can learn and improve as quickly as possible • Learn how to sell and close clients so we can serve clients and their families • Block distractions in order to identify, prioritize, and complete most important case tasks • Search for opportunities to improve the lives of their internal and external colleagues COMPETENCIES • Communicate positively, openly, and honestly with their fellow team members and their colleagues, while not engaging in gossip, drama, conflict in the office or in the broader legal community • Communicate with empathy and compassion with clients • Proficient in providing sound legal judgment • Maintain a professional distance from cases and avoid letting clients' issues become our own • Enjoyment within the stress and exhilaration of courtroom hearing and trials • Providing objective legal analysis no matter personal feelings or desire to help client • Communicating difficult legal concepts in plain English • Comfortable in high-stakes negotiation and mediation • Ability to manage negative emotions from clients in a professional manner • Lifting up those around them through great interpersonal skills • Proficiency with Apple technology, Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Google Suite, Clio, and Zoom EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Active Utah Bar License with no bar disciplinary actions • At least 3 years of experience in the following: in-court litigation (including proffer hearings, evidentiary hearings, and trials), mediation and family law Benefits: 401(k) with match Flexible schedule Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Vision insurance Paid time off Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday - Friday • No nights • No weekends If you bill 1600 hours, your salary will be $158,000. You have the opportunity to bill more and increase your salary.
