Travel Job Summary: /n-The Mammography Technologist performs
radiographic mammography procedures which produce high quality
diagnostic films for use in the detection of breast tissue
abnormalities. /n-This position works on a level not requiring
constant supervision and performs a variety of procedures that
require independent judgment, creativity, and initiative. /n /nJob
Essentials: /n-Ensures proper patient identification, order
verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. /n-Performs
radiologic mammography exams per department protocol including
advanced Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip
placements, drainages, etc. /n-Operates the mammographic equipment
to ensure that diagnostic images of high quality are produced.
/n-Appropriately uses equipment, maneuvers the unit, and selects
techniques to produce diagnostic images. /n-Appropriately uses
radiation protection to ensure the safety of patients and staff and
meets all ALARA program requirements. /n-Keeps current on new
procedures and equipment so skills remain at a high level.
/n-Maintain records required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of
Radiation Control. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required
documentation, including time stamps and image storage. Required
Skills & Experience: -Demonstrates positioning competency.
-Knowledgeable regarding breast self-examinations via answering
questions and providing written materials to patients. -Lifting,
Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Standing,
Walking. /n -Preferred Skills & Experience: -Experience in Imaging
or Mammography. /n Radiation Badge Requirement: -A personal
radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required for this
assignment. -To maintain an accurate and continuous exposure
record, providers are encouraged to use an existing badge from a
previous employer or assignment when available. -If a new badge is
issued, prior exposure history will not be reflected. Required
Education: /n-HS Diploma or GED /n /nPreferred Education: /n-N/A /n
/nRequired Certifications & Licensure: /n-ARRT registration.
/n-Current Rad Tech license in the state of practice. /n-Must meet
and maintain the ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification.
/n-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers. /n
/n-Must meet and maintain mammography specific ACR FDA/MQSA
requirements. /n /nPreferred Certifications & Licensure: /n-N/A
QUALIFICATION/LICENSURE Work Authorization : US Citizen Preferred
