Program Description: DDI Vantage empowers vulnerable children and
families to reach their full potential. Serving the community since
1971, this non-profit organization offers Early Intervention, Early
Head Start Home-based services and Early Head Start Child Care
Partnerships. Position Description: The part-time (10 hours/week)
Speech Language Pathologist serves as a member of a
multi-disciplinary team to provide individual and group services to
children enrolled in DDI Vantage Early Intervention Program.
Responsibilities: Conducts developmental, speech/language, and
eating/swallowing evaluations to assist in determining program
eligibility, and helps complete Individualized Family Service Plans
(IFSP). Conducts developmental, speech/language, and
eating/swallowing assessments of infants and toddlers enrolled in
DDI Vantage; and evaluates program and progress with criterion- and
norm-referenced instruments. Assists parents and caregivers with
the identification of speech/language outcomes for IFSPs. Provides
direct individual and group diagnostic intervention and treatment
to enhance the childs speech/language development, and facilitates
parents and caregivers in implementing a home program to achieve
the desired outcomes. Monitors and updates speech/language and
eating/swallowing outcomes. Provides speech/language and
eating/swallowing consultation to parents, caregivers and staff to
assist in home- and center-based intervention. Assists parents and
caregivers in their role as a child advocate when appropriate.
Identifies social service needs for families when appropriate and
refers them to the program coordinator for help in accessing
community resources. Collaborates with related disciplines to
ensure appropriate service delivery for each child. Possesses
understanding and knowledge of a childs overall development and
seeks consultation from team members of other disciplines when
appropriate. Provides written reports on a childs progress to third
parties when requested. Attends all mandatory CSPD training for
early intervention credentialing under Part C rules. Benefits:

requires a masters degree from an accredited college or university
in speech and language pathology; Utah state licensure, ASHA
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or commencement of
Clinical Fellowship Year, and completion of a Baby Watch Early
Intervention Program credential as part of new hire training. A
state and federal background screen, TB test, and motor vehicle
records check will be conducted on all new hires.
