-- About the Role Reporting to the VP, Operational Risk, this position is responsible for the governance and enhancement of LendingClub's fraud detection and prevention oversight programs. In this role you'll be a key business partner to senior leadership teams across LendingClub's lines of business. You'll be responsible for developing policies and standards, assessing controls and governance procedures, and supporting fraud prevention, detection, fraud system tuning and enhancements using an analytical approach. What You'll Do

• Analyze internal and external fraud detection and remediation processes, tools, and systems
• Develop the 2nd line of defense governance and strategy and plan for monitoring and fortifying our fraud operations
• Continuously assess the performance of the fraud detection and prevention programs including false positive rates
• Oversee the implementation of business logic to reduce patterns that produce false positives
• Leverage data driven analysis to makes recommendations to management on changes and enhancements to fraud detection and prevention systems
• Analyze large quantities of data, present facts, and offer remediation options to mitigate future risks and prevent future fraud losses
• Review design and implementation of controls; work with test teams to develop second-line test plans and cadence
• Work with data modeling teams to understand and influence statistical models that detect and alert fraudulent behavior
• Develop and implement second-line fraud reporting
• Support/coordinate special projects, research, and inquiries from business and other constituents About You
  • 10+ years of professional experience in financial services/banking, 5+ years of relevant experience in fraud strategy, operations, and/or governance roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience developing fraud policies and standards and monitoring adherence across the organization
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial services; a deep understanding of how financial services organizations manage audits and adhere to internal controls and external regulations
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn about the activities and specificities of our unique business model, advanced technology capabilities, and evolving regulatory environment
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity for action
  • Acute business insight and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of an organization and convey complicated concepts to both technical and non-technical people
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Aptitude to tell stories with data,--create charts and tables that are clear and highlight the key points without needing verbal explanation
  • Advocate for strong process and controls are to enable a successful fraud program
