Job Description:
Job Summary: In this role, you will plan, develop, and review
electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and
documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will
coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and
review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.
You will solve complex technical issues and ensure electrical
designs comply with all regulations and standards. This position is
for a SmartPlant 3D Designer who will prepare electrical 3D designs
as well as 2D electrical AutoCAD and SmartSketch designs to support
new facility infrastructure design. The successful candidate must
have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven
problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to
innovate designs. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires
AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7-8 years of
experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Must be able
to complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and background
check. Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge & application of
NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE Standards. Must have experience with an
electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program,
and be able to input and complete corrections to the database. Must
be able to collaborate well with other disciplines. Ability to cope
with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple
tasks. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to,
drawings for electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or
industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility
plants, or complex building electrical systems. Hands-on and
advanced experience using Smartplant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability
to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design
principles. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and
layouts. Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as
drawings and specifications. Ability to express technical issues in
a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally. Ability to
resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other
engineering disciplines, construction, and the client. Modeling of
piping, HVAC, and Mechanical equipment in a Smartplant 3D model
environment. Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA project
experience. Experience working with procedures meeting quality
assurance programs such as ISO-9000. Position Details: Pay Rate /
Range: $41.69- $90.20 The above salary range represents the range
expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based
on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the
candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel
