DescriptionEnsure the overall Product Performance, Scalability,
Quality, and customer satisfaction for the product(s) for which
your team is responsible through analysis of performance testing as
it relates to design, requirements / documentation, required
testing and Production implementation. Actively improve and develop
the quality of your team's development and performance testing
processes. Regularly collaborate with business and technical
representatives to establish solutions, specifications and
standards for fixes and enhancements to improve the overall
performance Quality of your team's product(s). Regularly evaluate
and test software programs from a performance perspective to verify
functionality against established requirements / specifications and
development and security standards to ensure the product(s) work as
expected. Regularly collaborate with Development, Product, and
Quality Assurance team members to ensure project delivery deadlines
are met. Help to establish QA Performance best practices and assist
the team in adhering to them. Help to further develop performance
testing using the skills and subject matter expertise of the QA
team members. Act as a performance representative of the QA team to
customers and other departments in coordinating efforts,
formulating solutions, fielding concerns, and prioritizing
work.
- Perform Performance testing on existing and new features /
fixes for Product releases
- Actively assist with clarifying performance testing
requirements for new features, improvements, and fixes
- Actively help the team identify and implement continuous
performance process improvements
- Actively help the department establish and adhere to
performance testing best practices
- Establish and coordinate performance test plans for large
projects and releases
- Participate in the design and architecture of new features and
functionality as it is related to the performance and scalability
of our products
- Assist in establishing and validating application performance
standards
- Provide spot leadership within the team, as needed
- Train and mentor other Performance Test Engineers, as
needed
- Investigate and resolve performance issues escalated by
customers and other departments
- Complete all responsibilities as outlined on the annual
Performance Plan through continuous communication and feedback
- Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable
accommodation Qualifications
- 4+ years of software Quality Assurance performance testing
experience and training; Bachelor's degree in relevant field
preferred. Software Quality Assurance Performance related
certification preferred
- Solid understanding of Quality Assurance performance testing
techniques and best practices using jMeter, LoadRunner, Visual
Studio, TSUNG or similar applications
- Solid understanding of performance testing methodologies and
technologies (e.g., Software Analysis and Requirements prep,
Strategy Design, Load Generator Configuration, Server and Load
Generator monitoring, Test Data generation, Load Scripts
development, Preliminary Tests Launch/Tests Execution and Results
Analysis/Reporting)
- Performance test scripting knowledge and capabilities (e.g.,
Stress, Load, Stability, Volume, Scalability, Component, Rush Hour
Check and Configuration testing) for analysis, test case
development and debugging
- Test Data Generation via code, SQL Queries, API calls and the
User Interface
- Strong knowledge of the department's products and holistic
knowledge of other Xactware products
- Strong knowledge and experience with the property insurance
industry preferred
- Extremely detail-oriented and excellent verbal and written
communication skills, including the ability to effectively
communicate in one-on-one and small to large group situations to
customers, team members, management, and other employees
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, web browsers, databases,
mobile devices, development tools and approaches, Software
Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum, defect tracking, task
tracking tools, and MS Office applications
- Displaying a "do what it takes" approach to meeting project
delivery deadlines, including willingness to work occasional
additional hours as needed
