Job Description:

Podium is a suite of messaging tools for local business. Our work streamlining this process for local businesses has awarded us recognition on top industry lists, such as Forbes' Next Billion Dollar Startups, Forbes' Cloud 100, the Inc. 5000 (#13), and Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies - in the last year alone. We look for people who are curious, creative and work to be a little better every day. In our work together we embody our values: Be a founder, Murder drama, and Enjoy the ride. We are looking for self-driven people who are creative problem solvers, that learn quickly, and can thrive in a fast paced environment with little guidance. And we care about your career growth. We try to assign projects that will help each team member develop into a more well-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future. Our team is dedicated to supporting new team members; we're a good mix of new and experienced engineers, creating the perfect environment for you to both mentor and be mentored. We all enjoy helping each other grow through 1:1 mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, we will look to you to help further establish robust patterns that help our code be scalable, composable and consistent across our frontend architecture.-- More specifically, you will join our messenger product team. Messenger is the core platform that all products at Podium work through to reach the end customer. We are just beginning work on a major redesign that will allow us to implement some of the most impactful updates to the Podium platform to date. You and the team's work will be front and center and is one of the highest priorities being worked on this year. What you should have:

  • Expert understanding of ReactJS with experience building scalable, composable, and reusable components.
  • Experience with frontend testing libraries such as jest or react-testing-library
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of frontend systems
  • Strong ownership and drive to launch services
  • Ability to mentor others in best practices of front end engineering when needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced remote environment. What we hope you have:--
    • 6+ years of professional experience as a frontend engineer on an Agile development team, in a hyper growth SaaS setting
    • Experience working with component libraries and/or building a component library from the ground up.

    • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
    • Experience with web infrastructure and distributed systems
    • Experience with GraphQL and/or Apollo Client
    • Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)
    • Full stack experience and the ability to think through a solution all the way through the tech stack.
    • Experience creating or maintaining webpack and/or babel servers BENEFITS
      • Transparent culture
      • Remote first work setting for Engineering & Product
      • Great opportunities for career growth
      • 401k with a competitive matching contribution plan
