TENNIS INSTRUCTOR

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 1 - 2

CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled

PAY RATE: $19.38 per hour

SCHEDULE: Temporary - Season starts May 15 and ends August 3 (Dates may be adjusted.)

DEPARTMENT: Recreation

JOB SUMMARY

Tennis instructor will provide group tennis lessons and/or teach the youth tennis league and attend matches.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• At least 2 years teaching tennis skills preferred.
• Must have knowledge of tennis foundations and have the ability to demonstrate proper tennis technique.
• Familiarity with ladder format and pro set add scoring a plus.
• Must be available for all tennis lesson sessions and/or tennis league practices and meets.
  
  • Tennis Lessons are held every Monday through Thursday for two-week sessions starting at the end of May until the beginning of August. The first session is held from 6pm to 8pm with the following sessions running from 8am to 12pm. Tennis Lessons schedule may vary with instructor's availability.
  • Tennis League has practices starting June 5th to July 13th every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3pm to 7pm. Matches for Tennis League are every Monday and Tuesday from June 12th to July 20th from 9am to 11am and Thursday and Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm.
  • A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
  • Ability and willingness to learn all aspects of the tennis programs and other duties as assigned.
